The price update did little to attract business, as sales had not commenced yet, and the BCCI joined the ICC in drawing fans' ire.

Some fans also pointed out that this was not the first instance of this problem happening. In fact, in the previous ODI World Cup, a few matches saw their tickets get released at the last minute. Critics say this lack of planning is inconvenient and raises questions of transparency.
