India Wins an Historic Victory

The first Blind T20 World Cup for women was won by India. In the final on Sunday, Deepika-led India defeated Nepal by seven wickets. Nepal managed to score 114 runs for five wickets. Saritha top-scored with 35 runs and led their batting. The Nepal team bowled with discipline, and they allowed only one boundary.

India reached the target in 12 overs with three wickets down. Paula Saren scored 44 not out and Pangi Karuna Kumari scored 42 runs. Their partnership helped India secure the win. Earlier, India defeated Australia in the semi-final. Nepal defeated Pakistan in the other semi-final. Six countries participated in this tournament. Deepika’s team won the title without losing a single match.

Two Telugu Players in the Squad

There are two Telugu players representing the country. The first is T.C. Deepika, a native from the Sathya Sai district in Andhra Pradesh. She is the captain of the Indian team and was educated in Karnataka. The second player is Pangi Karuna Kumari. She is an inhabitant of Vantlamamidi village in Paderu mandal, Alluri district, Andhra Pradesh. She is now studying Class 10 at Endada Government Blind Ashram School, Visakhapatnam.
