The Announcement
The schedule for the T20 World Cup 2026 will be announced by the ICC today, at 6:30 PM. The tournament will be held in India and Sri Lanka from February 7 to March 8. A total number of 20 teams will be participating in the event. These teams include India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, UAE, Oman, West Indies, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Ireland, England, Netherlands, Italy, Nepal, and Pakistan.
The format remains simple: each team plays for a place in the knockout stage.
Venues for tournaments
The matches are scheduled to take place across five venues in India: Ahmedabad, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, and Mumbai. Sri Lanka is scheduled to host matches at three venues. Some reports say the opening match and the final match of this series could be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
The final would shift to Colombo, Sri Lanka, if Pakistan qualifies for it. The Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai will host one of the semi-final matches. India, the defending champions India will enter the tournament as the defending champions and hope to keep their form going right from where they left it in the previous edition.
