The fourth and last match in the series of T20s for India and South Africa was to be held on Wednesday at Lucknow. However, this match was postponed due to heavy fog, with this particular match ending up with zero overs being played.

Response of BCCI to Cancellation of a Match

  • BCCI Vice President Rajiv Shukla has commented on the incident after the cancellation. "It is disappointing news for all of us. All the requirements had been met. They have cancelled at the last moment. However, the fog was so dense that playing was not possible," he said.
  • Rajiv Shukla also stated that the problem of fog can occur at the same time from the 15th of December to the 15th of January in many places in North India.
  • He also said that the BCCI would take a better look at this problem when scheduling matches in the future.

Delay and Final Decision

The toss was to take place at 6:30 PM, but the start was put off a number of times. The umpires checked the conditions around six times. There was no improvement,
