England Seal T20 Series With Win Over India In Final Match

England managed a six-wicket win against India in the third and final T20, pretty much to wrap up the series 2-1. In the end the hosts chased down 181 runs in 18.3 overs , and it looked better once they got past that early wobble. Even though India put up a fighting total, it was a match winning sort of stand—Alice Capsey with Heather Knight— that steered England home.

England Claim Series in Deciding T20

This last game basically acted like the series decider after the first two matches were split between the sides. India batted first and finished on 180 for 5 from their 20 overs. The score was powered by Harmanpreet Kaur’s captain style innings, then a few meaningful boosts from the middle order.

England’s reply didn’t start smoothly at all, but they came back with real intent to get to the target with nine balls left. That result then handed England a tidy 2-1 series success.

India Look to Bounce Back After Early Problems

India hit early rough air after losing their openers Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana. They slipped to 36 for 2, and suddenly the rebuilding job became non optional.

Yastika Bhatia then stepped in with an attacking knock, 32 runs from 18 balls. She found the fence seven times and helped lift the pace of scoring. Jemimah Rodrigues contributed 29 runs off 19 balls and kept things moving , not letting the innings stall.

That nice partnership ended when Yastika was run out in the seventh over. Still, India had managed to regroup and regain the upper hand, at least for a while.

Harmanpreet Kaur Steady the Ship for India

Captain Harmanpreet Kaur was the key figure in India’s total. She came in after the early setbacks and gave the innings some steadiness, while also keeping the run rate ticking along in a good way.

Harmanpreet shared a 40 run partnership with Rodrigues before she kinda, went on again alongside Deepti Sharma. She got to her half century off 38 balls and stayed unbeaten 56 from 40 deliveries. There were seven fours in her innings too, pretty neat.

Deepti added 32 runs from 24 balls, while Richa Ghosh finished not out on 6. Altogether, their work meant India ended at 180 for 5 , which looked pretty competitive at first glance.

England Overcome a Difficult Start

England’s chase didn’t really start smoothly. They lost three wickets for just 38 runs, so India already had that early edge.

India’s bowlers kept the pressure up in the first overs, and kept creating openings through disciplined spell work. At that point, it honestly seemed England were going to struggle to chase down the target.

Then the whole game shifted when Alice Capsey and Heather Knight arrived together at the crease.

Capsey and Knight Turn the Match Around

Capsey and Knight put on the partnership that decided it. They attacked the Indian bowling, then calmly lowered the required run rate, bit by bit.

They added 137 runs for the fourth wicket, and turned a tricky moment into a control type situation. That stand pushed England past 150 runs by 15 overs and left India waiting for that breakthrough.

Capsey made 82 off 43 balls, with nine fours and three sixes. Knight backed her with 70 from 42 deliveries, including ten boundaries as well.

Capsey got out in the 18th over, but by then England already had full control. After that, the rest of the chase wrapped up without much drama.
