Asian Games 2026: PM Modi Congratulates Team India, Praises Athletes’ Determination And Sporting Spirit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated our athletes in Asian Games 2026. He appreciated their efforts, enthusiasm and tremendous spirit on the global platform.

India finished fourth in the medal tally in the Asian Games 2026, with 85 medals. India also registered a second-highest medal tally in the Asian Games at Aichi-Nagoya, securing 21 gold, 27 silver and 37 bronze medals in the event.

With the Asian Games 2026 coming to an end, Prime Minister Modi congratulated all the members of the Indian contingent. He appreciated the determination and fighting spirit of the players at the multi-sport event.

PM Modi also congratulated the Indian medal-winning contingent in the Asian Games. He said that their efforts, enthusiasm, and tremendous spirit inspired the entire nation.

PM Modi stated that the achievements of our athletes will encourage the youth of India to participate in sports and serve as role models for them.

The Prime Minister also urged to promote sports at the grassroots level so that more and more young Indians can join and represent the country in international events.

India finishes fourth in Asian Games medal tally

India’s overall medal tally consists of 21 gold, 27 silver, and 37 bronze medals. India clinched the fourth position in Asian Games 2026. China, Japan, and South Korea finished first, second, and third, respectively.

India’s performance in various sporting events has been phenomenal, with Indian athletes and teams registering outstanding results in cricket, hockey, kabaddi, wrestling, archery, golf, and other sports.

India registered several historic wins in Asian Games 2026. The men’s cricket team won the Asian Games gold, and the men’s hockey team retained the gold, defeating Pakistan in the final. The women’s hockey team also won the gold, ending a 14-year wait for the team.

The stellar performances of Indian athletes are bound to inspire many young Indians to take to sports, which in turn will have a positive impact on sporting events in the years to come. The focus now shifts to other international events, including the Olympics, and the road ahead for Indian sports. Asian Games 2026, hosted in Aichi-Nagoya, came to an end in Nagoya, after two weeks of the sporting event.
