Following the immense success of Cocktail featuring Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Diana Penty, the team decided to make a sequel with all-new cast and storylines. The return of director Homi Adajania was one of the major reasons that made people get more excited. Filming of the movie started in 2025, and it was shot in Sicily, Delhi, and Gurugram. The initial posters and teaser have already caused a lot of excitement amongst movie-goers, mostly because of the interesting combination of Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead roles. Also, the music composed by Pritam adds another reason for people to watch the movie.
