Vijay received 120365 votes which allowed him to defeat R.D. Sekar from the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) who obtained 66650 votes. Winning Margin: 53,715 votes
Trichy East Constituency
Vijay secured 91,381 votes, surpassing DMK leader Inigo Irudayaraj, who garnered 63,965 votes. Winning Margin: 27,416 votes
