On Wednesday, a stampede broke out during the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) victory procession after their win in the IPL 2025.
11 fans lost their lives and numerous other fans were hurt due to inadequate crowd control.
A huge crowd had assembled, and the crowd got out of control.
The police were unable to control the crowd.
Criticism of RCB and Kohli
After the incident, many people criticized the RCB team and its management.
Some also questioned Virat Kohli for taking part in the celebration at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Atul Wasan’s View on Kohli’s Awareness
Former Indian cricketer Atul Wasan shared his opinion on the issue.
He said Virat Kohli might not have known about the tragedy while the celebration was happening.
He said, "Even if the franchise leaders or politicians were aware, they may still go for personal benefit. But Kohli and the other players might not have been aware. If Kohli had been aware, he would have gone back immediately," Wasan told the media.

Following the news of the disaster, Virat Kohli wrote his sympathies online.
He lamented the victims who died and also the ones who were injured.

He posted a message on Instagram, stating he is praying for the victims of the unfortunate stampede at Chinnaswamy Stadium.
