Trump Regularly Takes Credit For Everything, Former Pentagon Spokesman Alleges

Response of Former Pentagon Spokesman on Trump's Assertions

Former Pentagon spokesman Michael Rubin stated that Donald Trump takes credit for everything routinely happening in the world, including the ceasefire between India and Pakistan. Rubin advised Indians to react just like Americans would — by not paying much heed to such assertions.

While talking to a news agency in an interview, Rubin stated, "Trump has the habit of claiming credit for everything. Ask him and he might say he invented the internet or cured cancer. He is doing the same here with the India-Pakistan ceasefire. Indians should take no notice of it, as Americans generally do not."

U.S. Role in India-Pakistan Relations

Rubin further explained that every time there are tensions between Pakistan and India, the U.S. steps in behind the scenes. Washington wishes to ease tensions but not permit them to run away into a war. He confirmed that America has been speaking to New Delhi and Islamabad through recent tensions.

Background on the Ceasefire and Trump's Claims

In response to the Pahalgam terror attack, India conducted Operation Sindoor to attack terrorist camps in Pakistan. This further accelerated tensions between the two countries. A treaty of ceasefire was signed to prevent a second war.

Trump later stated that his intervention had prevented a nuclear war between the two nations. He said the same thing while in Saudi Arabia, stating that his intervention had defused the tension. He even suggested that the two nations should have a peaceful dinner in order to diffuse tensions further.

Trump also attributed the efforts of U.S. officials like Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio towards the peace process.
