Donald Trump Admits No Role In India-Pakistan Ceasefire

Trump Clarifies U.S. Had No Involvement in Conflict Resolution

U.S. President Donald Trump has confirmed that he did not broker the ceasefire between India and Pakistan. This is following persistent claims by Trump that he had played a role to end the conflict. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has repeatedly maintained that the U.S. had no involvement.

Addressing with Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir in the Oval Office, Trump declared, "Two clever leaders of India and Pakistan decided to end the war." He added that both nations are armed with nuclear weapons and refrained from war due to understanding.

Modi Asserts India's Autonomy in Decision-Making

Prime Minister Modi announced that the ceasefire was agreed between the two countries without any interference by a third party. He said it was in line with direct talks between their commanders. Modi further added that he also briefed Trump on this during a telephonic conversation, highlighting India's strong position against interference from foreigners.

Trump's Previous Statements Contradicted His Recent Comment

Despite the phone call with Modi, Trump initially maintained that he would "stop the war" and praised both India and Pakistan. However, within a day, he revised his position, aligning with Modi’s clarification.

Focus Now on Trade Agreements

Trump also mentioned that the U.S. is working on trade agreements with both India and Pakistan. No further details were provided at the time.
