Adani Group Commences Off-Grid Green Hydrogen Pilot
Adani Group has initiated India's first 5 MW off-grid green hydrogen pilot plant at Kutch in Gujarat. The announcement was made on Monday. The project is a part of the National Green Hydrogen Mission initiated by the Indian government.
How the Plant Works
The plant produces hydrogen through water molecules splitting. This is done through electrolysis with the help of power from renewable energy sources such as solar and wind. Adani Group utilized power from its own renewable power plants.
Environmental Advantages of Hydrogen
Hydrogen is the cleanest and lightest gas in the entire universe. It produces only water vapor when used. This makes it an excellent substitute fuel for lowering carbon emissions.
Support for National Green Hydrogen Mission
The National Green Hydrogen Mission has been launched by the Indian government to reduce the import dependency of the country. The mission aims to create local sources of green energy. Adani New Industries Limited, which belongs to Adani Enterprises, set up this facility as part of that effort.
Future Expansion Plans
The company mentioned that this project is an important addition to India's green hydrogen ambition. Adani Group is also in the process of creating a green hydrogen hub in Mundra, Gujarat.
