New Visa Alternative for Simplified UAE Residency
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has introduced a new type of its well-known Golden Visa. The new alternative is unlike the usual methods involving massive property investments or business. Rather, it presents a nomination-based Golden Visa.
Pilot Program Targets Indian and Bangladeshi Residents
As part of a first-time pilot program, the UAE will make available this new visa category to the residents of India and Bangladesh. The UAE has chosen an Indian advisory company, Riyadh Group, for handling this procedure.
Lower Cost Compared to Traditional Golden Visas
Earlier, Indian applicants were required to make a minimum investment of 20 lakh AED (around Rs. 4.66 crore) in real estate or business to be eligible for a Golden Visa. With the new regime, one can obtain a life-long Golden Visa by paying an upfront payment of 1 lakh AED (around Rs. 23.30 lakh).
Anticipated High Interest from Indian Applicants
Around 5,000 Indians are likely to apply for this visa in the next three months, sources estimate. Managing Director of Riyadh Group, Riyadh Kamal Ayub, labeled it as a big opportunity for UAE residency for Indian nationals.
Strict Screening Process in Place
Applicants will go through various background checks. These encompass criminal record reviews, anti-money laundering checks, and social media behavior. The company will also evaluate the potential of each applicant in helping the UAE's industries such as finance, trade, science, startups, and employment services.
Straightforward Application Process Without Dubai Travel
There is no necessity to travel to Dubai during the application procedure. Applicants are required to get prior clearance from their country of origin. Candidates can submit their applications at:
- Riyadh Group's registered offices
- Company online portal
- OneVasco visa service centers
- A special call center
Visa Perks Include Family Sponsorship and Local Work Rights
The holders of this Golden Visa can:
- Live in Dubai with their families
- Employ domestic staff like drivers and helpers
- Establish a business or work locally
- Keep the visa in life, since it doesn't expire
Potential Rolling Out to Additional Countries
This system is currently being piloted. It could soon be implemented in additional countries, including China.
