India Set To Become Third Largest Economy By 2027: Amit Shah

India's Economic Growth Under NDA Government

Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that India is moving rapidly under the NDA regime. He opines that the nation would achieve the status of the third-largest economy globally by 2027. He said this on an occasion in Rudrapur, Uttarakhand.

He clarified that India has made tremendous progress since the BJP came to power in 2014. National growth has risen by 60 percent in the past decade.

Infrastructure Development Highlights

Amit Shah stated 45,000 kilometers of roads and railway tracks have been constructed across the country. He said that during the tenure of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, India had climbed to the 11th position in the global economy. Prime Minister Modi, he continued, has shifted it to the fourth position.

Future Economic Targets and Government Strategy

He reiterated that the present government is focused on making India the third-largest economy in the near future. Prime Minister Modi wants India to be at par with developed countries by 2047, Shah said. He added that the whole government is striving for this goal. 

Development of Tourism in Uttarakhand

Shah reassured individuals in Uttarakhand that the tourism industry will grow. The government wishes to get more international tourists to the state, popularly called Devbhoomi, he added.

IMF Projections and World Ranking

Quoting IMF statistics, Shah reminded that only America, China, and Germany are placed above India economically. If India continues growing at this pace, it could overtake Germany in three years.

Major Steps towards Economic Advancement

  • Simplifying business operations
  • Promoting international firms to invest in India
