Congress Leaders Left Out of Operation Sindoor Debate
A debate on India's Operation Sindoor is planned in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday. Congress MPs Manish Tewari and Shashi Tharoor seem to be left out of this debate, though. Manish Tewari reacted by posting a mysterious tweet on social media. According to him, he will "speak for India."
Tewari Shared a Post Pointing Out His Omission
Tewari and Tharoor had been a part of an all-party delegation that had made the country explain Operation Sindoor to the world community. On social media site X, Tewari posted a news report that talked of their exclusion from the current Lok Sabha discussion. He even posted lines from a patriotic song in the Bollywood film Purab Aur Paschim, indicating that he was determined to maintain national pride. Sources in the Congress party say that Tewari had actually asked for an opportunity to speak in the debate.
Party Wanted Tharoor to Join Debate, But He Refused
According to party sources, the Congress had wanted Tharoor to join the debate. However, they had hoped that he would do so on the party's speaking agenda. Tharoor, reportedly, refused to accept these terms. When confronted by reporters, Tharoor merely replied: "Silence, silence."
