Russia Reacts To US Nuclear Submarine Deployment

Russian Official Claims Number of Submarines Is Adequate

Russia has reacted to recent events on the situation of the US nuclear submarines off its coast. The statements followed hardwords uttered by the previous Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, which led to the US taking action.

Russian Parliamentarian Viktor Vodolatsky said that Russia has sufficient nuclear submarines. Vladimir Putin's critic argued that their submarine force is more than the number of submarines in the seas belonging to the US. Russian submarines are able to track and watch the US submarines already deployed, he said.

No Response Required to Trump's Remarks, Claims Russia

Vodolatsky stressed that Russia doesn't have to react to the statements of US President Donald Trump. He added that their defense system, including submarines, is well-equipped to deal with the situation.

Fyodor Lukyanov, Editor-in-Chief of Global Affairs Magazine Russia, also shared his words. He stated that Trump's threat shouldn't be considered seriously now.

Diplomatic Voices Urge Caution

Earlier, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov both concluded that direct military confrontation between the two nations is to be avoided.

Trump Orders Deployment of Two Nuclear Submarines

President Trump made a post on the Truth Social platform stating that he instructed two nuclear submarines to be deployed off Russian waters. He explained that he did it as a reply to Medvedev's statement, in case it signaled more action.

Trump, however, added that he hopes tensions do not rise in the given situation.
