OpenAI recently released its new artificial intelligence model, ChatGPT-5. The launch prompted a robust response from Tesla and xAI CEO Elon Musk, who pointed fingers at Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella. Musk asserted that "OpenAI will eat Microsoft someday." Nadella responded to Musk's remarks directly in social media. 

Microsoft CEO Emphasizes GPT-5 Adoption Across Platforms

Satya Nadella posted on the X platform (formerly Twitter), explaining the performance and capability of GPT-5. He mentioned that GTP-5 is currently included in Microsoft 365 Copilot, GitHub Copilot, Copilot Studio, and Azure AI Foundry. In Nadella's opinion, this model is the most sophisticated one built by OpenAI to date. He said that GPT-5 is intended to enhance data analysis, software development, and chat interaction. He also confirmed that Microsoft Azure powered its training.

Elon Musk Criticizes OpenAI Again

In response to the GPT-5 announcement, Elon Musk made a critical remark saying, “One day OpenAI will eat Microsoft.” This follows his past criticisms of OpenAI and its direction. Musk’s comment suggested growing concern over OpenAI’s influence in the AI space, especially with Microsoft being a major partner.

Satya Nadella Offers a Measured Response

Satya Nadella replied directly on the X platform. He said, “Many people have been trying for this for the last 50 years. Learning new things every day, becoming partners, and competing continues.” His response suggested that innovation and competition are part of the tech industry’s ongoing evolution.

Musk Defends xAI’s Grok AI

Following a post on X commenting that OpenAI's developments could spur competitors such as Google's Gemini and Musk's Grok to catch up, Musk posted back. "Grok 4 is already a very capable AI model," he replied, protecting the abilities of his own AI system.
