Clashes Erupt Again On Pak-Afghan Border

New Tensions Between Pakistan and Afghanistan

There have been fresh clashes along the Pakistan-Afghanistan frontier. Pakistani officials stated that Afghan troops launched unprovoked attacks against Pakistani border outposts.

Pakistani security officials reported to local media that their troops replied to the assaults and inflicted damage on Afghan military outposts and tanks. The incident was confirmed by the Afghan authorities. Afghan Deputy Police Spokesman for Khost province Tahir Ahrar admitted fighting between both sides had taken place.

As per Pakistani state media, the Afghan forces and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) together opened fire on Pakistani forces without provocation. It was reported that Pakistani forces gave a strong reply. Officials added that a major TTP training camp was also eliminated in the operation.
