India's Mobile Phone Exports Reach ₹16,000 Crore In September 2025

Sturdy Export Growth of Mobile Phones

India exported mobile phones worth $1.8 billion (₹16,000 crore) in September 2025, according to the India Cellular and Electronics Association (ICEA). It is a rise of 95% in comparison to the same month last year.

Exports slow down in August and September when production is fine-tuned and there are seasonal shipping cycles, but the steady growth over the year is a testament to the resilience and agility of India's manufacturing economy, ICEA asserted.

Half-Yearly Export Performance

In April to September 2025, India exported mobile phones worth $13.5 billion (₹1,22,600 crore). It is 60% higher than the $8.5 billion (₹75,500 crore) for the same months in 2024.
According to ICEA Chairman Pankaj Mohindro, the figures indicate the increasing quantity, technology advanced capability, and augmenting reliance of the Indian mobile manufacturing sector.

Major export markets include United States, United Arab Emirates, Austria, Netherlands, and United Kingdom.
In April–September 2024, its US exports were worth $3.1 billion. This year it will be $9.4 billion and will be three times, giving the share of US in total exports 70% as opposed to 37%.
