Trump Adjusts Position On Ukraine Conflict

Trump Questions Ukraine's Victory

US President Donald Trump said that Ukraine could possibly defeat Russia, but he doubted whether it would do so given the current situation. His comments made headlines as the presidents of the US and Russia will soon talk about a possible ceasefire.

Trump stated that Ukraine might be able to win and then retracted by saying that he did not believe they would. These words are a change from what he said before, in which he stated that Ukraine might lose some territory in order to regain occupied territory taken by Russia.

Zelensky Calls for More Action Against Russia

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reacted to an interview by stating Trump needs to be tougher on Russia. He said, "Putin is not like Hamas. He is stronger. That is why we need more pressure on him."

Zelensky also asked the United States to provide Ukraine with Tomahawk missiles, which have a long range.

Russian forces carried out drone attacks in the Rostov region of Ukraine.

Planned Trump-Putin Meeting Delayed

It was confirmed by a US official, who requested anonymity, that the meeting between President Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Budapest has been postponed. The two presidents were due to meet last week.

The postponement was made after talks between the US and Russian foreign ministers.
