Donald Trump Says U.S. Nuclear Arsenal Could Destroy The World 150 Times

Trump on Nuclear Disarmament at Miami Forum

US President Donald Trump said that the United States had sufficient nuclear weapons to destroy the world 150 times. He stated this when repeating his call for nuclear disarmament at the American Business Forum in Miami, Florida.

Trump said that he had discussed the topic of disarmament with Russian President Vladimir Putin and with Chinese President Xi Jinping. He added that reducing the number of nuclear weapons would free up countries to use their resources for projects that directly benefit their people.

Focus on Peace and Reduction of Conflicts

According to Trump, peace in the world can be attained. He said most of the conflicts that used to occur no longer exist. As Trump said, investing in areas where people's lives can be improved is worth more than spending money on nuclear weapons.

Comments on Nuclear Weapons Testing

Recently, Trump claimed that preparations for nuclear weapons tests had commenced for the first time in nearly 30 years. This, Trump said, was because a number of countries were now doing nuclear tests, including Pakistan.

He said that the number in Russia and China was very large, but the United States had more than any other country. Trump repeated a claim he had previously made that, with the current arsenal, the U.S. could wipe out the world 150 times. Confirming that he had spoken to Putin and Xi about disarmament, Trump refused to get into the specifics of when or where the nuclear tests would be carried out.
