The auction for IPL 2026 is going to begin soon. In total, 350 players will be in the auction list. The BCCI has removed 1,005 players from the registered list while adding 35 new players.
The auction, according to the BCCI, will be held on December 16 at 2:30 pm in Abu Dhabi. First, the process will include capped players in this order: batters, all-rounders, wicket-keeper/batsmen, fast bowlers, and spin bowlers. Later, uncapped players will be auctioned in the same order.
‘Cricbuzz’ reported that the name of Quinton de Kock was added after a franchise requested it. The South African wicketkeeper-batter had retired from international cricket earlier. He has now returned to international cricket and recently scored a century in the third ODI against India in Visakhapatnam.
It is reported that Quinton de Kock’s base price for the IPL 2026 auction will be Rs. 1 crore, which is a 50 percent decrease from his price in the last auction. In the previous auction, Kolkata Knight Riders bought him for Rs. 2 crore.
