Delhi Pollution Remains A Serious Concern: Justice Surya Kant

Supreme Court Justice Surya Kant has raised concern over worsening air pollution in Delhi. He said the issue requires long-term and sustainable solutions rather than short-term measures. He also expressed confidence that environmental experts would be able to identify the effective ways.

Air Quality in Delhi Continues to Worsen

  • Air pollution levels in the national capital have attained dangerous levels. Thick smog enveloped most parts of Delhi on Friday morning as visibility throughout the city plunged to poor. Consequently, restrictions under Stage-4 of GRAP continue to be enforced.
  • According to data released by the Central Pollution Control Board, the overall AQI in Delhi stood at 310. In some areas, AQI levels were as high as 395, indicating very poor to severe air quality conditions.
