Remarks on India–EU Free Trade Agreement
The Prime Minister described the recently concluded Free Trade Agreement between India and the European Union as significant. The agreement will create new business opportunities which India manufacturers can take advantage of according to him. He indicated that companies should use this opportunity to enhance both their operational capabilities and their product creation standards.
His message to industrial leaders required them to maintain their high performance standards without developing any sense of security. He reported that Indian products now have the ability to enter all 27 member states of the European Union. He said that maintaining consistent quality standards will help establish better long-term connections which will also improve India's international reputation. He expressed gratitude to Members of Parliament for their participation in the current reform initiatives.
Focus on Reform and Governance
Prime Minister Modi said the government intends to enhance citizens' lives through their implementation of successful governance systems. The government uses three elements which include reform and performance and transformation to establish its operational methods according to him. The administration currently handles existing problems while developing solutions which will take effect in the future.
Congress Response
The Congress party criticized the Prime Minister’s remarks. The party said that making self-promotional statements during Parliament sessions has become a pattern. AICC General Secretary Jairam Ramesh stated that the Prime Minister does not hold all-party meetings to seek opposition views on important national matters.
