Iran Delegation Arrives In Pakistan For Planned Talks

Arrival of Iranian Officials in Islamabad

An Iranian delegation arrived in Islamabad on Friday for planned discussions linked to US-Iran peace efforts. The Pakistani officials welcomed the delegation at the airport.

The delegation includes:

  • Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf
  • Senior political and military officials
  • Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council
  • Governor of the Central Bank

Flight tracking data confirmed that two Iranian government aircraft landed in Islamabad. The Foreign Ministry of Pakistan announced that Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Army Chief Asim Munir together with other officials received the delegation.

Conditions Set by Iran for Talks

Iran stated that talks will move forward only if certain conditions are met. Iranian media reported these conditions clearly.

Ghalibaf Comments on US Relations

  • Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf spoke to reporters after arrival. He stated that Iran maintains official diplomatic relations with the United States but still does not trust the country.
  • He mentioned that attacks occurred during diplomatic negotiations in previous situations. He stated that Iran is open to an agreement if the US respects the rights of the Iranian people. He also warned that if talks are used only for political messaging, the outcome could be negative.

Lebanon–Israel Contact Before Talks

A related development took place before the scheduled discussions. The United States ambassadors from Lebanon and Israel conducted a telephone discussion.

Officials stated that the call aimed to:

  • Support a possible ceasefire
  • Prepare for structured negotiations

Sources added that both sides agreed to hold a formal meeting on the 14th of this month, with support from the United States.
