Rajat Patidar Stars In RCB Vs GT Qualifier Win With Unbeaten 93

RCB secure place in tournament final

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) beat Gujarat Titans in the first Qualifier, and moved to the tournament final. Captain Rajat Patidar played a big part in it, not out 93 runs, from just 33 balls.

Aggressive batting approach, helped RCB

After the match, Patidar said the team wanted to play with positive intent, kind of steady but not fearful. He also explained that the batters kept putting pressure on the Gujarat bowlers from the start, like right away.

He said they didn’t really walk in with a rigid attacking plan. But when it was needed, the players were ready to go for it, without delay. He added that the team wanted the body language to look confident and in command.

Team discussion, more about positive intent

  • Patidar revealed that the players talked about their strategy before the game. It was a key knockout, so the team aimed to take over the contest early.
  • He said every batter showed intent during the innings, and that overall attitude helped RCB stay on momentum through the match.

Rajat Patidar explains his batting style

  • On his own innings, Patidar said he usually takes the first 8 to 10 balls to figure out the pitch, and how it behaves. Once he gets set, then he looks to attack the bowlers.
  • He also mentioned that he doesn’t stress too much about losing his wicket after he settles. Instead, he wants to keep that pressure running on the bowling side.

RCB’s powerplay plan vs Gujarat Titans

Patidar also spoke about RCB’s bowling plan. He said they targeted key Gujarat Titans batters, like Shubman Gill , Sai Sudharsan , and Jos Buttler, during the Powerplay overs.

And as per Patidar, the plan worked well, and it helped RCB control the game early on.
