AP Inter Board: Public Exams For First Year To Go As Per Usual

Decision by Govt based on Suggestions

The government had invited suggestions on various proposed reforms in Intermediate education, which included the adoption of the NCERT syllabus, examination patterns, and an internal marking system. The government accepted feedback till the 26th of this month, and based on the responses, it has been decided to retain public examinations for first-year students.

Key Changes and Withdrawn Proposals

  • Many proposals stressed that if exams are eliminated, students may feel disinterested towards their studies and have a drop in learning skills.
  • Proposal for internal examination has been withdrawn.
  • Exams for first and second-year Intermediate will continue to be conducted as earlier.
  • NCERT curriculum will be followed
  • Mathematics A and mathematics B will be converted into one paper only.
  • Both plant and animal sciences will be offered in one Biology paper.
  • The English language is to be compulsory as a subject, while any other language subject will be offered as an optional subject.
