The Department of Health and Human Services is cutting its workforce by 10,000 jobs, while the Internal Revenue Service will lose an estimated 20,000 jobs. Furthermore, about 24,000 military-related jobs are also being cut. These cuts are estimated to reduce the federal employee workforce from 82,000 to about 62,000, as part of a broader cost-cutting initiative.

In a collective effort, more than 2 million federal employees were sent e-mails detailing a proposal of eight months' wages for those exiting voluntarily. The Department of Justice, under the Trump regime and headed by Musk, after being reformed, has had a pivotal part in overseeing such layoffs, intent on cutting back operational expenses.
