YouTube's New Assistance for Small and Mid-Sized Creators
Most new YouTubers struggle to gain views and subscribers. To assist them, YouTube has added a feature named Hype. The feature is rolling out in India and is intended to make videos reach more people.
What is the Hype Feature?
- The Hype feature supports creators with between 500 and 500,000 subscribers.
- A Hype button is present below the videos of such qualified channels.
- If a person presses the Hype button, the video accumulates points.
- These points are used to push the video up in terms of exposure on the platform.
- Videos that gather sufficient points are placed in a Top 100 Hyped Videos list.
- This list is shown in the Explore tab on YouTube.
- Lesser-subscribed channels receive bonus points to provide equilibrium to the competition.
Who Can Use It and How It Works
- Only creators who are part of the YouTube Partner Program may utilize this feature.
- The feature is automatically applied to qualified channels; setup is not required.
- The Hype button shows on videos that have been uploaded in the past 7 days.
- Fans can tap the Hype button below the Like button on the video.
- Each viewer has three complimentary hypes to offer each week.
- The more hypes a video accumulates, the more it will appear on the leaderboard.
- Sponsored videos can also be shown in YouTube's suggested feed.
