Flipkart Implements Zero-Commission Model For Products Under Rs. 1000

Flipkart Introduces New Commission Policy

Flipkart announced a zero-commission model for all products priced below Rs. 1000. This will also be extended to Shopsy, Flipkart’s hypervalue platform. Shopsy will operate this model across all categories of products regardless of the value of their selling price. Flipkart said this would provide customers access to more lower-priced products and will cut operational costs by as much as 30 percent for sellers.

Focus on MSME Growth and Digital Expansion

Sakait Chaudhary, Senior Vice President and Head of Marketplace at Flipkart, said that the company intends to boost the MSME sector, which accounts for around 30 percent of India's GDP. He further added that the zero-commission model shall provide confidence to emerging and regional brands onboarding into the digital marketplace. As Chaudhary maintained, Flipkart wants to strengthen the e-commerce ecosystem by offering more affordable products while supporting seller aspirations through wider accessibility.
