How Ambanis In Jamnagar Are Supporting The PM Modi Campaign

Luminous celebrations are underway in Jamnagar, Saurashtra, Gujarat, for the pre-wedding celebrations of Anant Ambani, the youngest son of Mukesh Ambani, and Radhika Merchant.

Jamnagar has become the epicentre for the entire galactic constellation of celebrities, both domestic and foreign.

The three-day extravagant pre-wedding celebration in Jamnagar is expected to be attended by Rihanna, Aamir Khan, Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Salman Khan, Gauri Khan, Shahrukh Khan, Sachin Tendulkar, Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar, and Saif Ali Khan.

Unlike Aakash and Isha, Mukesh Ambani's other two children, who chose Santorini, Bali, or Tuscany for their weddings, Anant is choosing an Indian location for his special day.

WHY ANANT AMBANI PICKED JAMNAGAR AS VENUE

These days, the wealthy and well-known in India choose "desi venues."

For their special days, Kiara Advani, Parineeti Chopra, Katrina Kaif, and the Ambanis have all decided to travel to India.

The youngest Ambani sibling, Anant, explained to India Today TV why Jamnagar was chosen as the location for his pre-wedding festivities. The two explanations are the "Wed in India" proclamation made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his "special connection with Jamnagar."

Anant Ambani, 28, told IndiaTodayTV, "When our PM says that one should get married in India, it's a matter of pride and happiness."

"It's my good fortune that we could arrange the celebration here in Jamnagar, as this is where I grew up." This is the karm bhoomi (workplace) of my dada and papa and the janm bhoomi (birthplace) of my dad. And I live here. We are celebrating here because, as my father often says, this is my dad's sasural, or his in-laws' residence. Anant Ambani continued, "I also think I'm from Jamnagar; yahin ka nagarik hun."

In a Mann Ki Baat broadcast, Prime Minister Modi expressed how "some families going abroad and conducting weddings" hurt his "heart."

"The country's money will remain in the country if we celebrate marriage celebrations among Indians on Indian soil," Prime Minister Modi declared, launching the "Wed in India" campaign.

During a meeting in Dehradun in December 2023, Prime Minister Modi encouraged Indians to "Wed in India," with a focus on Uttarakhand.

Similar to Make in India, PM Modi's 'Wed in India' initiative aims to maximise the significance of Indian weddings.

In India, weddings have long been a lucrative industry. And because of an increase in income and purchasing power, they have been expanded. This has made me want to treat myself to something special on that day.

A lot of Indian money was leaving as celebrities were opting for destination weddings in other countries. The goal of PM Modi's "Wed in India" campaign is to stop that.

42 LAKH WEDDINGS in six months, valued at RS 5.5 lakh crore

In India, the newest wedding season began on January 15 and will last until July 15.

According to a CAIT poll, more than 42 lakh weddings are anticipated to take place throughout the country this year, with wedding-related goods and services likely to generate over Rs 5.5 lakh crore in revenue.

The poll included vendors and service providers associated to weddings from thirty Indian cities spread over several states.

More than 4 lakh weddings would take place in Delhi alone this season, bringing in almost Rs 1.5 lakh crore for businesses, as per CAIT National President B.C. Bhartia and Secretary General Praveen Khandelwal.

According to Pravin Khandelwal, banquet halls, hotels, open lawns, community centres, public parks, farmhouses, and a variety of other wedding venues are all fully booked all over the nation, including Delhi.

The report was confident in and acknowledged the effect of PM Modi's 'Wed in India' campaign, which has contributed significantly to the flourishing wedding industry in India during the nuptial season."

According to CIAT, around 35 lakh weddings took place during the winter shaadi season in 2023, with revenues projected at Rs 4.25 lakh crore.

In India, wedding seasons are seen as crucial to the country's economy.

Indians spend more on shaadis than the combined GDP of other nations.

Of the 42 lakh marriages, households would spend more over Rs 1 crore on each wedding.

Although the exact amount spent on Anant Ambani's pre-wedding is unknown, it is clear that it is a lavish event given that Rihanna is compensated for her appearance with an estimated $8–9 million (about Rs. 66–74 crore).
